Meet Our Therapists
Hello, I am Melissa Martin.
I am originally from Wisconsin, but graduated from St. Louis University with honors in 1996 with a Bachelor in physical therapy.
I started my profession working at Froedert Hospital working with inpatients for one year.
I then switched to working in an outpatient orthopedic setting and enjoyed it so much that I decided to open my own practice in 2001.
I have taken several continuing education classes which focused in manual therapy.
I completed a manual therapy certificate program through the Manual Therapy Institute in July of 2003.
In addition, I am certified through the American Physical Therapy Association as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, one of the most advanced certifications a physical therapist can achieve.
With my training and experience, patients at M and M Physical Therapy can rest assured that they are cared for by a skilled clinician.
I also enjoy talking about nutrition and supplements with my patients for enhancing their overall health.
My interests outside of therapy consist of taking walks with my husband and twins in the Waterford area, where we live, as well as water-skiing and gardening.
My name is Larry Pleva.
I am a Wisconsin native, currently living in Oak Creek.
I graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in 1997.
I began my career in Racine in a small practice focused on general orthopedic physical therapy.
I did a great deal of specialty training in speed and power development.
I earned a certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
For the next 5 years, I worked with high school, college, and professional athletes developing speed, agility, and power.
I started at M and M Physical Therapy in 2002.
I have completed advanced training in Manual Therapy with The Manual Therapy Institute.
I truly enjoy meeting all of my patients.
I like to get to know everyone’s interests and activities so I can strive to make physical therapy fun.
I like to create a program that will not only address the particular diagnosis, but also help enhance their ability to enjoy their interests and activities.
My wife (who is also a physical therapist) and I are passionate about golf.
I truly enjoy working with golfers on strength, flexibility and balance to improve their performance on the course.
